Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Monday met with German journalists covering Egypt ahead of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Germany, the ministry spokesman said.

He said Shoukry updated the journalists on the latest developments in Egypt and the ongoing political and economic reforms.

He cast light on ongoing preparations for holding the parliamentary elections, the last cornerstone in the roadmap which was announced in the wake of the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi.

The Egyptian people are keen on achieving their aspirations in building a modern and democratic regime, Egypt's top diplomat said.
