Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Romanian counterpart Bogdan Aurescu on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference.
During the meting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting bilateral ties in the various fields.
In statements on Saturday, Egypt's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said that the Romanian minister said that he was keen to meet with Shoukry on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference in order to reactivate political consultation between the two countries, as Egypt is the biggest partner for Romania in the region.
The Romanian minister also appreciated Egypt's major role in achieving regional stability, added the spokesman.
Aurescu further invited Shoukry to visit Bucharest within the upcoming months, said the spokesman.
Shoukry reviewed the latest political and economic developments in Egypt and the ongoing preparations to hold the parliamentary elections along with the preparations to organize Sharm el-Sheikh economic conference, added the spokesman.
The spokesman further said that Shoukry tackled the security challenges in Sinai and several areas in Egypt in light of escalation of terrorist acts by the Muslim Brotherhood.
