Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, the chairs the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in New York.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Nuclear NoN-Proliferation Review Conference in session in the US city.

They discussed topics on the agenda of the gathering and efforts to achieve nuclear non-proliferation, said a spokesman for the Egyptian foreign ministry.

Shoukry reviewed the Egyptian stance regarding the issue. He asserted the necessity to establish a nuclear-free zone in Middle East, said the spokesman.
