Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday with UK Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Joyce Anelay.

They met on the sidelines of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference in New York.

They discussed coordination and consultation between London and Cairo on topics on the agenda of the international gathering, said foreign ministry Badr Abdel Aatti.

Shoukry reviewed Cairo's stance regarding the implementation of the global treaty.

He asserted the necessity to work on establishing a nuclear-free area in the Middle East.

The Egyptian FM underlined the importance of Cairo's relations with London.
