Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Saturday with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius.

The meeting took on bilateral ties and ways to promote them in all fields, said Badr Abdel-Ati, the spokesman for the foreign ministry.

A raft of regional and international issues of mutual concern were discussed as well.

The conditions in Libya and the developments of the Syrian crisis figured high during the meeting, said the spokesman.

Fabius is scheduled to meet later today with an Arab committee on the Palestinian cause in his bid to resume the stalled Middle East peace process.
