Cairo - MENA
Egypt has not known division across its long history and it has always been one nation for one people living on the banks of one river, said Boutros Ghali, former UN secretary general and chairman of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR). \"The 1919 Revolution embodied the national unity in facing challenges to Egypt during that era, including the resistance against the British occupation,\" Ghali said in statements on Monday. The diversity of Egyptians in all fields is the secret of the unity and strength of Egypt, he said. Ghali called for coping with the technological development and the information technology revolution through concerted efforts of the Muslims and Christians.
