Sharm El-Sheikh - MENA
Minister of Industry and Trade Munir Fakhry Abdel Nour discussed with Portugal's Deputy Prime Minister Paulo de Sacadura Portas means of boosting bilateral trade cooperation.
They agreed that bilateral trade between Egypt and Portugal was far less than the level of political relations binding the two countries.
Businessmen from the two sides need to maintain contacts to discuss investment opportunities in the two countries.
Abdel Nour said the two countries are discussing operation of a direct air line to facilitate trade exchange, noting it was stopped in January 2011.
For his part, Portas said his government was keen on cooperation with Egypt as one of the pivotal states of the Mideast and North Africa.
A business delegation from Portugal will visit Egypt within the coming two months to get acquainted with the investment opportunities in Egypt.
