The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday asked Iran not to interfere in the domestic affairs of Arab countries.

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aati made the statements in the aftermath of controversial comments delivered by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during Eidul Fitr, in which he tackled the domestic affairs of some Arab countries.

Abdel Aati urged denouncing violence in the region in order to uproot terrorism and extremism at the regional and international levels.

The spokesman reiterated Egypt's support for the Arab countries in their attempts to prevent other states from interfering in their domestic affairs.
