The Foreign Ministry has launched an action plan for tightening media liaison with the world, refuting any erroneous information purported by foreign media and presenting the true image about Egypt.

In statements to diplomatic reporters on Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the ministry is keen on addressing the world by the language which it understands.

Within this context, the ministry launched an English Facebook account, separate from the Arabic one, and is keen on translating all its news items into English and wiring them on the ministry's website and on the Facebook page.

The spokesman referred to wiring a film, subtitled in English on dispersing pro-Brotherhood protesters in the Nasr City Square of Rabaa El Adawyia in 2013; an action which deterred all efforts to manipulate this event and brought to spotlight Brotherhood violence.

He added that the ministry highlighted the recent international conference of Egypt's Dar al Iftaa, held under the title "The Fatwa: Current Realities and Future Prospects."

Egypt - as a member of the Global Coalition to Counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) - seeks to disseminate the moderate teachings of Islam to crush terrorists' allegations that they are moving under the rules of Islam.

Abu Zeid added that he holds almost a weekly phone call with the coalition members to coordinate stances.

He noted that the ministry seeks to address the Egyptian community, not just the international community.

He noted that the ministry managed to use social media, like Twitter, to respond to erroneous information published by CNN channel.

He noted that an initiative was launched for establishing an Egyptian English-speaking channel up to the international level.

He added that the Egyptian English-speaking Nile TV channel has qualified cadres, but it needs state support.
