Egypt was successful in passing a resolution on the impact of terrorism on human rights at the current session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The resolution was voted for by 25 countries while 16 were against and six abstained, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said Friday.
The resolution aims to condemn and renounce violence and terrorism, he said.
Egypt’s permanent representative in Geneva Amr Ramadan had told the UN session that the international community had to unite to fight terrorism and its negative effect on human rights and freedoms.
