Egypt took part in a meeting of the political committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) that was recently held in the Moroccan capital.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry said Monday the meeting focused on a number of issues concerning conditions in the Mediterranean region, including the situation in Libya and Syria.

Participants also discussed the threat of illegal migration and human trafficking, the statement said.

They also tackled efforts to fight terrorism in the Mediterranean region and achieve economic development, it added.
