Egypt has expressed concern at the new legislation and policies Denmark intends to adopt against the refugees and migrants in violation of the European country's commitment to the political, social and economic rights of the refugees.

Egypt's permanent delegate to the Geneva-based UN headquarters Amr Ramadan said during the regular review of human rights in Denmark at the Human Rights Council that Egypt calls on the Danish government to annul the measures which allow the authorities to confiscate the property of the refugees and migrants.

He expressed Egypt's concern over the increase of racism and Xenophobia phenomena especially against Muslims, calling on the Danish authorities to work on taking measures to stop the incitement of the Danish groups who seek hatred and discrimination on the basis of religion and race.

The British newspaper the Guardian had indicated that Denmark’s parliament is expected to vote on Tuesday in favor of drastic reforms curbing refugees’ rights, including delaying family reunifications and confiscating their valuables.

The country has insisted the new law is needed to stem the flow of refugees even though Denmark and Sweden recently tightened their borders.
