Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aati

Egypt supports the UN-mediated Morocco-hosted peace talks among Libya's rival factions, Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Aati said on Sunday.

In press statements, Abdel Aati noted that the Egyptian ambassador to Libya is participating in the dialogue sessions, now held in the Moroccan city of Skhirat to bring about peace in Libya.

"Egypt's priority is to fight terrorism in Libya," he said, adding that the Libyan feuding parties should grasp the opportunity to reach a deal.

He further praised the UN efforts to prepare a final draft agreement to achieve aspirations of the Libyan people and maintain Libya's security and unity.
