Army Chief of staff Lt. General Mahmoud Hegazy met on Wednesday with the under secretary of the Italian Defense Ministry and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt.
They discussed a number of issues of mutual concern in light of distinguished cooperation between the two countries, as well as the security and stability in the region.
The Italian delegation expressed support for Egypt and its people in their war against terrorism, expressing belief that Egypt will restore its strategic role in protecting the region's stability.
The meeting was attended by armed forces commanders and Italy's ambassador in Cairo.
