Defense Minister Sedqy Sobhy Sunday met a US congress delegation under chairman of Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia and emerging threats Dana Tyrone Rohrabacher.
The two sides discussed developments in the Mideast region and the international war on terror.
Sobhy praised relations between the two countries, urging joint efforts in combating terror at regional and international levels.
The congress delegation highlighted the role played by Egypt in achieving balance and stability in the Mideast and the government's steps to restore security and stability and achieve development to meet the aspirations of the Egyptians.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi and top commanders of the armed forces.
