Former US state secretary Madeleine Albright

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a meeting with former US state secretary Madeleine Albright on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The pair probed the developments in the Middle East in light of rampant terrorism, Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Aati said.
The talks also addressed Egyptian-US relations with the former US official, who now chairs the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, hailing the Egyptian role in fighting terrorism and efforts by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard, the spokesman said.
Shoukry also reviewed preparations for the upcoming parliamentary polls and an economy-supporting conference Egypt will be hosting in March, he added.
Albright said she will use her contacts with the US private sector to encourage it to participate in the Egyptian economic event.
