Egypt is keen to promote cooperation between the United Nations, African Union and Arab League in the peaceful resolution of disputes, Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs Hamdy Louza said.
During a meeting with the UN High-Level Independent Panel on Peace Operations, chaired by former president of East Timor José Ramos-Horta, Louza reviewed Egypt's vision on disputes in the Middle East region and means to deal with them, including the situation in Syria, Libya and Iraq.
The panel is on a visit to Cairo on March 4-6 as part of consultations with the Egyptian government to discuss its vision for the future of peacekeeping operations under the strategic assessment of the state of UN peace missions.
