Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received two phone calls from Russian and US counterparts Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry respectively.

The phone call with Lavrov took up the latest regional developments, especially conditions in Syria and the outcome of the latest tripartite meeting held between the US, Russia and Saudi Arabia in Doha, according to statements by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zayed on Monday.

Lavrov was keen on posting Shoukry with ideas for solving the Syrian crisis and putting an end to the humanitarian problem faced by the violent-hit country.

The call tackled also means of boosting bilateral relations during the coming phase.

Meanwhile, Kerry discussed during a phone call the latest developments in the Yemeni crisis as well as efforts of the United Nations to support dialogue between the conflicting parties in the Arab country.

The two sides probed also the latest tripartite get-together held in Doha on Syria as well as the strategic dialogue between Egypt and the US.
