Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is expected to meet on Saturday with a visiting Syrian opposition delegation in Cairo.
The meeting will discuss the importance of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis that protect the country's sovereignty and people's unity.
During their visit, the Syrian delegation is planned to meet with a number of senior officials within the framework of preparing for a conference for the national opposition slated to be held next spring in Cairo.
Meanwhile, Shoukry will meet on Saturday with a delegation of the US Congress to discuss ways of boosting bilateral relations as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
