Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Dr. Mohamed Abdul Muttalab met here Tuesday with his Ethiopian counterpart Alamayou Tegni with the participation of high-level delegations from both sides. A press release on the visit of the Egyptian minister's visit to Ethiopia and his talks in Addis Ababa, said that the Ethiopian side has not changed position regarding the Egyptian proposal aimed to find a solution to the problem related to the mechanism to implement recommendations of the final report of the international experts committee on the Renaissance Dam and Ethiopia's rejection on any compromises that can bring viewpoints closer and to achieve the joint interest of the eastern part of the Nile basin. The press release, issued last night and carried by the Egyptian Middle East News Agency (MENA), said Egypt accepted the Ethiopian invitation out of its keenness to make maximum effort in a bid to achieve water security in Egypt without infringing on Ethiopia's right to develop and benefit from the project which will be in the interest of the Ethiopian people, and in a way that would not negatively affect the downstream countries. The statement added that the Egyptian moves came to assure the government's due keenness to show positivity of its position to the interntional community. The Egyptian minister flew into addis ababa earlier Monday leading a delegation of experts and held talks with the Ethiopian side which focussed on points related to the ethiopian Renaissance(Al-Nahda) Dam .
