Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

Ambassador Mostafa El Kouny, Personal envoy of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, has concluded an official visit to Togo.

During the visit, El Kouny delivered a message from Sisi to his Togolese counterpart Faure Gnassingbe on ways to promote bilateral relations.

Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the presidential envoy met with Togolese Prime Minister Komi Selom Klassou, who hailed the historic relations between the two states.

The two sides discussed regional and international developments at the political and economic levels, particularly topics to be discussed during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, attended by the Egyptian and Togolese presidents.

The envoy called on Togo to support the Egyptian candidacy for non-permanent membership in the Security Council for 2016/2017.

Klassou said he would convey Sisi's invitation for Gnassingbe to visit Egypt and confirmed his country's full support for Egypt's candidacy for the UNSC's non-permanent membership.
