Paris - KUNA
A planned visit here next Friday by Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi has been taken off the diplomatic agenda in view of the explosive situation in parts of Egypt and demonstrations and riots that have left over 100 dead in the past three days, KUNA has learned from official sources. Morsi was due to hold talks in the French capital with President Francois Hollande at the end of this week, but this is no longer on the French leader's schedule. No indications were given on who postponed the visit but it was certain to be Morsi who declared state of emergency and curfew in several Suez Canal areas, notably Port Said, Suez and Ismailiya, where the trouble focused. The Egyptian President had originally intended to visit Germany and France in the coming days as part of his first European tour.
