Cairo - MENA
A team of Heliopolis prosecution investigators examined on Monday the precincts of the Republican Guard House, which was the scene of bloody confrontations between an armed terrorist group and army personnel earlier in the day. The clashes left 42 dead and 322 wounded, according to an Egyptian Health Ministry source. A team by East Cairo prosecution examined 11 bodies of the dead at Zeinhoum morgue to identify them and stand on the reason of the death. The prosecutors will also meet the wounded to know what exactly took place around the Republican Guard House. A military source has earlier announced that a group of armed terrorists tried to break into the Republican Guard House at dawn of Monday and that one officer was killed and a number of conscripts were injured, including six critically, in the gunfire.
