Two kidnapped Egyptian police were freed less than 24 hours after they were kidnapped in Saint Catherine, South Sinai, Egyptian Interior Ministry source said Wednesday. A high ranking security source told Middle East News Agency (MENA) that security forces, in collaboration with local tribes men and locals in Sinai, succeeded in securing the release of the two policemen. Early Wednesday, Major General Mohammad Al-Hafnawi received information about a shootout by armed men targeting an ambulance, which was on its way to hospital, carrying a patient accompanied by policemen. Al-Hafnawi added the armed men kidnapped two policemen inside and headed to mountain areas.
