The Egyptian Solidarity Committee welcomed the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt.
Putin's visit to Egypt comes at a critical time as Egypt and the Arab region are facing a despicable war launched by terrorists with the aim of shaking the region's stability, the committee said in a statement.
The committee added that Putin's visit to Egypt underlines the close ties binding Russia and Egypt.
The two countries are keen on fostering cooperation, especially at the political and economic levels, added the statement.
The committee also hailed Russia's role in supporting Egypt in its war against terrorism, said the statement.
