Cairo - MENA
Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Hatem Said el Nasr left Cairo on Monday, heading for Nicosia.
He is scheduled to chair the Egyptian delegation to preparatory meetings, slated for Tuesday, to prepare for a tripartite summit between leaders of Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.
The three countries' leaders are keen to maintain the tripartite summit's periodicity according to what has been agreed upon at the first summit hosted by Cairo on November 2014, Egypt's foreign ministry said in a statement.
The summit also confirms the excellent relations between Cairo, Nicosia and Athens and aims to promote cooperation and partnership between the three countries in various fields, the statement added.
The Egyptian Assistant FM is scheduled to meet with Greek and Cypriot senior officials on the sidelines of the meeting.
