Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a meeting Sunday Barcelona with Fathallah Sijilmassi, the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), to discuss promoting cooperation, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Badr Abdel Ati.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting for the European Union and southern Mediterranean states on the European neighborhood policy.
The meeting tackled mutual cooperation between Egypt and the union in various fields and reviewed projects that may implemented by the union in Egypt.
Egypt's participation in the meeting reflects its keenness to boost Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the different economic, political, commercial and cultural fields.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Shoukry will discuss with his counterparts from the Arab and European states means to boost bilateral cooperation and regional issues topped by war on terror and the situation in Libya, Yemen and the Syrian crisis along with the Palestinian issue.
