The High Elections Committee

A delegation of Egypt's High Elections Committee (HEC) is currently visiting Russia to get familiarized with the unified election day operations.

The visit comes on an invitation of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation to follow up the country's local elections, as about 59 million Russians were eligible to vote for 21 governors and 11 regional parliaments.

Following their tour in San Petersburg, Egypt's Ambassador in Moscow Mohammad al Badri received the delegation that includes HEC's vice chairman Abdul Hadi Mahrous Abdul Hadi and three members of the committee's general secretariat.

Egypt's Parliamentary elections, slated for October and November, will mark the third and final step of the country's road map, which was outlined on July 3, 2013, following the removal of Muslim Brotherhood's president Mohamed Morsi.
