Egypt Ambassador to the Vatican Hatem Seif el Nasr met here Monday with President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran.

During the meeting, the two sides tackled ways of boosting cooperation between the Egyptian religious institutions, topped by Al Azhar and the Vatican.

Tauran also hailed Egypt's efforts in combating terrorism and extremism along with Azhar's role in disseminating the true teachings of Islam.
