London - KUNA
Kuwaiti Embassy in London on Wednesday urged nationals living in or visiting Britain to remain vigilant and to take all precautionary measures as powerful storms and flood continue to rock the European country. In a press statement obtained by KUNA, the embassy advised nationals to stay away from coastal areas, particularly those in southwestern the country. It added that the embassy staff is working around the clock to keep in touch with nationals to ensure their safety, respond to any call for help and to prepare for any emergency. The embassy has also allocated a phone number (02075903400) to receive calls from Kuwaitis needing help around the clock. The statement comes as the Met Office issued a rare red warning for violent waves of up to 100mph in west Wales and north-west England over the past two days."Winds of this strength can cause widespread structural damage, bringing down trees and also leading to loss of power supplies," the Met Office said."In addition, large waves are likely to affect some coasts. The public should take action to alter their travel arrangements during this spell of storm force winds."
