Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat urged on Saturday the Middle East Quartet to press Israel to abide by international obligations.
This came during meetings with the UN, EU and Russian representatives to the Middle East Quartet as well as the American Consul General here.
Erekat said that Israel should stop its settlement activities, release the fourth batch of Palestinian prisoners and end occupation of Palestinian territories as soon as possible.
He also stressed the Palestinian Central Committee's determination to establish a viable and independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
