The European Commission Saturday said it is increasing its emergency aid to the Philippines following the massive destruction caused by Typhoon Haiyan. During her visit to the country, EU Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, Kristalina Georgieva has announced 7 million euro more in humanitarian aid. Today's decision brings to 20 million euro the Commission's assistance to the Philippines in the aftermath of Haiyan, said the EUs executive body in a statement. Separately, EU Member States have also contributed around 25 million euro in financial aid.
