EU High Representative European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton strongly condemned the "despicable" attack against innocent civilians in the Nigerian village Izghe on Saturday. "The High Representative calls for those responsible for these heinous acts to face the full force of the law," said her spokesman Michael Mann in a statement tonight. "She underlines that the EU stands firmly with the people of Nigeria in the fight against terrorism and violence, and for the rule of law and human rights, " he added. According to media reports, as many as 80 people were reported killed in the attack.
