The European Parliament is hosting the 8th Annual Kashmir EU Week which is organised by Nicole Sinclarie, British MEP from West Midlands, in cooperation with the Kashmir Centre in Brussels. Speaking at a press conference in the European Parliament Wednesday, Sinclaires said the aim is to raise the issue of Kashmir as a \"human rights issue.\" \"We have the largest Kashmir community (in West Midlands) outside Kashmir and for me this is a constituent issue,\" she said. On his part, Majid Tramboo, head of the Kashmir Centre in Brussels, said the theme of the photo exhibition which opens today evening is \"Reconciliation: Kashmir, India and Pakistan.\" He said the exhibition aims to promote at all levels reconciliation and dialogue between the three stakeholders. \"It is also to emphasize to the members of the European Parliament to continue to keep in their minds and in their hearts the situation in Kashmir,\" he said. He noted that European Parliament elections are to be held in 2014 and stressed that \"we have to ensure that we support such MEPS like Sinclaire who work for Kashmir issue.\" \"It is very crucial for us to see how over the next months the British MEPs are putting and placing this issue on their agenda. This exhibition before the elections is an appropriate thing to do,\" he added.
