The European Union is mulling to further assist Lebanon in dealing with the impact of Syrian refugee crisis on the country, an official said Friday. Visiting EU special representative for the Southern Mediterranean region Bernardino Leon met with Lebanese officials and discussed the political and economic situation in the country in light of the repercussions of the Syrian crisis. The EU is ready to further assist Lebanon in maintaining stability and promoting democratic reforms and sustainable development, Leon said, reiterating the EU\'s commitment to Lebanon \'s unity, sovereignty and independence.
