A major fire broke out on the campus of one of India's premier technology institute in the national capital Monday, a senior police official said. "The fire was first noticed around 11.45 a.m. Some 10 fire tenders have been pressed into service and the fire is now under control at the Indian Institute of Technology in the south of the Indian capital. There have been no reports of any casualty yet," he said, on condition of anonymity. Local TV channels reported that three cylinder blasts in one of the laboratories at the institute could have triggered the fire. The cause of the fire can only be ascertained after a probe which will be ordered soon, the official added.
