French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius has reiterated his country’s support Lebanon’s stability and the Lebanese government’s policy with regard to the situation in Syria. This came during a telephone call received by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati from Fabius. The two reviewed the current situation in Lebanon and the region. For his part, Mikati asked France to support the Lebanese army and to strengthen its capacity. He also expressed his hope that France and the international community would take the initiative to support Lebanon’s efforts in providing relief for the displaced Syrians.
