Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said his visit to the US is meant to enhance the Egyptian-US relations and continue coordination between both countries.
Coordination between Egypt and the US always has a positive impact on the international arena; mainly as Egypt assume greater responsibilities as part of its membership in the UN Security Council and AU Peace and Security Council, Shoukry added in press statements at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington.
Asked by MENA correspondent about the issues to be discussed with US officials, Shoukry said the talks will cover a number of regional issues, mainly the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya, along with the phenomenon of terrorism.
Shoukry, who arrived here on Sunday, will meet with his US counterpart John Kerry , several US officials and congressmen during his several days' visit to the US.
