Cairo - MENA
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will leave for New York on Wednesday to attend the 2015 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference.
During the visit, Shoukry will also hold talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
He and Kerry will also meet with Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
The top diplomat will also get together with representatives of the different geographical groups at the UN Security Council, MENA learned, noting this is part of efforts to lobby for diplomatic support for Egypt to win a non-permanent UNSC seat in 2016-2017.
The NPT Review Conference will be held on April 27 through May 22.
