The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has decided to send a technical delegation by the end of February to discuss means of providing technical support for the 1.5 million feddans' project.

Egypt's Ambassador in Rome Amr Helmy made the remarks on Tuesday following a meeting with FAO chairman José Graziano da Silva.

The mission will include experts in a number of fields, including irrigation, underground water, fish farming, agriculture, soil and renewable energy, he added. 

The delegation will meet with officials of the Egyptian Agriculture Ministry to discuss the role to be played by the UN organization in Egypt.
