Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Saturday discussed with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the Israeli aggression on Gaza and developments in Syria. During a telephone conversation, Judeh called for stopping the escalation in Gaza to avoid further tension and its implications on the peace process in particular and the region in general. The talks also touched on the latest developments in Syria and the large numbers of Syrian refugees fleeing to Jordan in spite of the difficult economic conditions the Kingdom is living. The two sides stressed the need to continue coordination and consultation on various regional and international issues.
