One soldier of the NATO-led ISAF coalition was killed Sunday in eastern Afghanistan. "An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died following a small arms fire attack by enemy forces in eastern Afghanistan today," the ISAF forces confirmed in a press release. The brief release gave neither the nationality of the victim nor the details about the incident under the ISAF policy. More than 86,000 ISAF forces have been stationed in the country. Up to 144 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
