France is concerned about an Israeli decision to confiscate agricultural lands in the West Bank to use in establishing settlements, said spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Roman Nadal.

In press statements on Friday, Nadal said that the settlements represent violation of international law and contradicts with obligations of the Israeli authorities to bring an end to the conflict.

Israel said Thursday it was planning to appropriate lands in the occupied West Bank to build new Israeli settlements.
