France strongly condemned on Monday the two attacks which targeted the Lebanese Army in southern city of Sidon last night, which killed one soldier and injured three others. The French government also condemned the killing of one Israeli soldier in a separate incident on the Lebanese borders. France strongly condemns the new aggression, foreign ministry spokesman Vincent Floriani said in a press briefing, expressing condolences to the families of the victims, and solidarity with those injured, reiterating commitment to Lebanon's stability and security. The spokesman added that France calls on all Lebanese parties to avoid escalation and maintain national unity under Lebanese President Michel Suleiman. Floriani stressed importance on his country support to Lebanese armed forces and praised courage of its soldiers to maintain stability and security of Lebanon. The French official also condemned the killing of one Israeli soldier on Lebanese borders, calling on self-restraint and respect of UN resolution 1701.
