France condemns the terrorist attack that targeted a crowded marketplace in the Iraqi town of Khan Beni Saad located in eastern Diyala province, killing and injuring scores of people, Spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry Roman Nadal said in a statement on Sunday.
Nadal offered his country's condolences to the victims' families and the Iraqi authorities.
He asserted that France is standing by Iraq in its fight against terror.
Police and medical sources announced on Friday that a suicide bomber drove a truck packed with explosives and blew himself up into the market, killing at least 130 people, including children who were celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid al Fitr, and injuring scores.
