France on Monday said it was "deeply worried" by the dissolution of the Yemeni parliament and other measures taken by the militant Ansarallah movement in Yemen and urged respect for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative and the agreements on a national dialogue and partnership in Yemen.
"Just as the UN Security Council did on February 6, France is expressing deep worry following the new, unilateral measures announced by the Ansarallah movement," a Foreign Ministry statement said here.
The statement said Paris "condemns, in particular, the announcement of the dissolution of parliament." France called for respecting commitments made for a conference on national dialogue and also for the Gulf Cooperation Council peace initiative and the national partnership and peace accord that was agree last September 21.
These must be "respected and fully applied," the French statement said.
"France insists on the need to bring about rapidly a consensual solution with all the Yemeni political formations in order to put an end to the crisis and restart the transition process," the Foreign Ministry said.
Paris also called for negotiations between all parties to resume rapidly under the aegis of the UN Special Advisor for Yemen, in a spirit of good faith and without conditions.
