Paris - Arab Today
France will increase the number of its fighter jets deployed in Jordan and the UAE to compensate the departure of Charles de Gaulle, the French army said on Thursday.
France's only aircraft carrier the Charles de Gaulle had been deployed in the Gulf since December for actions against Daesh. The carrier will be moved to France again and will be there for long for development.
According to a spokesperson for the French army, two Mirage fighters 2000D left Niger's capital Niamey for Jordan to join eight fighter jets there.
Other jets will also be sent to the Gulf in the coming few weeks, the spokesperson added.
