The Franco-Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (OFEDH) hosted on Saturday a conference on efforts exerted to address extremism and terrorism.

The conference reviewed Egypt's experience in battling terror groups and means to present the true image of Islam.

The participants included Head of Egypt's Human Rights Union Najib Jebrail and Sufi Sheikh Alaa al-Din Abu al-Azayem.

Addressing the participants, OFEDH president Jean Maher blamed ousted president Mohamed Hosni Mubarak for leaving more space for the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood and other groups that distorted the real image of tolerance.

"Egypt is in a real war against terrorism and lost many of its patriot people in the fight," Jebrail said.
