The aircraft carrier at the heart of France's campaign of air strikes on Daesh jihadists will move from the Mediterranean to the Gulf "in a few days", France 24 quoted French President Francois Hollande as saying to its crew during a visit Friday.
"In a few days, you will go into a new zone, taking over command responsibilities from our allies in the coalition," Hollande said.
Hollande arrived earlier aboard the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to meet the military personnel launching strikes on Daesh group in Syria and Iraq.
The Charles de Gaulle, France's only aircraft carrier, has been carrying out airstrikes against Daesh group bases in the wake of the terrorist attacks.
