A six-member delegation of the French Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee arrived in Tehran today to hold talks with a number of Iranian officials, Mehr News Agency reported.

The French delegation, headed by French Senator Daniel Rainer, who is a member of the Defense Committee, is visiting Iran at the invitation of Ahmad Reza Dastgheib, Deputy Chairman of Iran's Parliament’s Foreign Policy and National Security Commission.

According to Adviser to Iran’s Parliament Speaker Hossein Sheikholeslam, the French delegate is scheduled to meet Dastgheib, as well as Deputy Foreign Ministers Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Ebrahim Rahimpour to discuss bilateral, parliamentary issues.

He added that the delegation is also set to visit the historical city of Isfahan on Wednesday and Thursday.
